The Ohio Chess Academy has been a leader in chess education for the better part of twenty years. Lead by Senior Chess Master Carl Boor the classes have provided an enriching introduction to chess for thousands of students in the Midwest over the past two decades.

Many schools and parents have opted to have students compete in scholastic chess tournaments winning numerous state and national titles. Whether for competition or just for the fun of playing the Game of Kings, Ohio Chess Academy creates a professional and engaging chess experience!

What does the chess program look like ?

Depending on the needs of the school a chess class can be held after school for one or more hours. Chess classes are also available in the morning or during school time. During class, students will receive equal parts instruction and structured play time. We feel it is important to both challenge students in learning new skills while also reaping the benefits of play and social interaction. All equipment (Chess Sets, Clocks, Handouts) will be provided by Ohio Chess Academy. A high priority is placed on creating a structured learning environment by combining solid classroom management skills with a well organized and engaging presentation. Our goal is to create a chess enrichment experience that is affordable, instructive and fun.

Every school and organization has specific needs and constraints. The terms of the classes are flexible, lasting from seven to twelve weeks and priced equitably.
